APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
CONTEMPORARY ART SOCIETY

Contemporary Art Society was founded in 1973 as a support group for semi-professional artists in Nova Scotia.  As a member, you are entitled to attend and/or participate in the following:


 
(a)                 BUSINESS MEETINGS held the first Thursday of every month, from September to June, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to discuss functioning of the Society and to present issues of common concern. Meeting location is the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, on Lower Water Street, Halifax

 
(b)                 LECTURES held after the Business Meeting at 8:00 p.m.  Invited speakers discuss their work and show slides.  Speakers include painters, sculptors, ceramists, lithographers, photographers and muralists.

  (c)                 ART SHOWS held several times a year in September, December and a juried exhibition in  May, at which members may sell their work

This page will be included in our Membersí Biography Book  which we display at all society shows to provide background information to potential buyers and viewers.

 

You may pay membership dues at the first meeting you attend.
